New Faces? I've been gradually acquiring birds for the new bird room. The bird room is not yet complete. Because I don't like to keep birds in cages unnecessarily, I may be adding some of them to the aviary in the coming weeks, until the aviaries in the bird room are ready for them. Plus, since the aviary is understocked, I may be looking for some new birds to fill it out a little better on a permanent basis. Keep an eye out for the new faces!

Bird Status

We have the following new additions:
A pair of normal star finches
A pair of pied star finches
A pair of orange cheek waxbills
A new female blue-capped cordon bleu for my male.

The male owl finch has been removed from the aviary for a while because he plucked the female's breast feathers out. It was my hope that she would grow new feathers with the next molt, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen.

Other birds you will see with the webcam:
Evel the Zebra Finch. He is old and not very active anymore.
The Society Finches - original birds that came with the aviary and they are still thriving.
American Singer Canary
Strawberry finches
Goldbreasted waxbill - a little plucked around the neck (he came that way). I can't seem to find him a mate, but am still looking.
